Sunnyvale Arts Festival

  • S Murphy Ave & E Washington Ave Sunnyvale, CA, 94086 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The Sunnyvale Art Festival is, to me, the beginning of the summer festivals. It should be a very nice weekend with temps in the 80's. Come and pay me a visit, be nice to see you.

This week's featured painting is "Whale 2017", the last of my "Whale" series, framed and matted for $495.00 (usually $595.00). Often I will paint the same subject a number of times exploring the potential of a certain visual. This image is from book two, Zonk and the Secret Lagoon, and is my final version of this subject.

Art show at The Rockridge Cafe

Most of my current available work will be on display in The Rockridge Cafe from November 16 through January 3, 2017. Before I ever thought of becoming a painter I enjoyed the occasional breakfast or lunch at the Rockridge so I get a personal kick out of my nearly annual show here.

There will be quite a few newer original paintings for sale at this show at reasonable pricing.

Check back for the reception dates for a Christmas sale in December.

Children's Bookfest, Lafayette, CA.

I will be in Lafayette on Sunday October 15, for the Children’s Book Faire, another first-time event for Zonk. There will be a wide selection of authors and publishers as well costumed children’s book characters wandering the crowd. This book faire will be held at Acalanes High School, in the gymnasium from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Short and sweet, don’t miss it.

This event is organized and presented by Bay Area Festivals. They have been doing award winning children’s events around the Bay Area for 40 years. This is the second year for this even which promises to be very nice.

Help me support this local book fair. Come early and get a Goody Bag, free to the first 200, full of special offers from attending authors ($1.00 off Zonk Books) and publishers.

Art in the Yard at The Ruth Bancroft Gardens

This is a new event for me and a new venue for this event. The Ruth Bancroft Gardens in Walnut Creek are a real local gem. I personally love the enomous and varied collection of cactus, like the desert fauna in my Zonk Books.

This will be a much smaller and more laid back event than the street fairs I do all summer. There are approximately 30 handpicked artist, so the quality of selection is very good. You will not see anything but fine arts and crafts at this show.

So come out and enjoy a quiet walk in the gardens and shop a lovely selection of arts and crafts.
